Janel World Trade Acquires Order Logistics' Business Assets, Creating End-to-End Global Supply-Chain and Information Technology Solutions Company
JAMAICA, New York, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Janel World Trade, Ltd. JLWT, a full-service global provider of integrated logistics services, today announced the strategic acquisition of the Order Logistics brand and software technologies, customer relationships and related assets. The acquisition includes the web-based supply chain technology solution Solve (IT)2, which enables customers to collaborate in the planning, execution, management and tracking of shipments, financial settlement, procurement and quality control activities on a worldwide basis. "Through this new acquisition, we can manage the entire logistics process -- for example, from qualifying a new factory in China, to the placement of an order with that factory, and throughout the production process, the trans-oceanic shipment and the delivery of merchandise to a warehouse or retail store anywhere in the USA or worldwide," stated James N. Jannello, Chief Executive Officer of Janel World Trade, Ltd. "This eliminates the challenges and inefficiencies encountered by many companies seeking to outsource merchandise, equipment or supplies from lower-cost vendors in the Far East, while providing such companies with a single-source logistics solution and supply-chain visibility that avoids the complications of dealing with multiple service providers." Janel's Order Logistics division now utilizes state-of-the-art, Internet-based architecture and technology that enables companies to manage and execute effective global supply chain strategies. Its proprietary software platform allows corporate executives to manage, track and control the status of international orders and shipments in a "real-time" environment at any point in the procurement process. "As an integrated supply chain software solutions provider of web-based technology to Fortune 500 companies and mid-market enterprises, we have worked synergistically with Janel's logistics network during the past year to enhance the ability of companies to compete in the global marketplace," observed Brian Griffin, President of Janel's Order Logistics division. By acquiring the Order Logistics business to strategically complement its traditional Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage and other logistics services, Janel is well-positioned to become a leader in the development of global supply chain solutions. Its capabilities now include a comprehensive end-to-end solution for the sourcing, transportation, real-time tracking, documentation and management of in-transit inventories at the order level detail on a global scale. Order Logistics received the 2006 InnoVision Technology Award for Technology Application for its development and implementation of a web-based product design and sourcing application, created to streamline and enable global sourcing of new products for manufacturing. Through the InnoVision Technology Awards program, Deloitte & Touche has since 1999 recognized and honored businesses, individuals and organizations that have demonstrated significant advancements involving innovation and technological progress. Order Logistics was also selected as an Inbound Logistics Top 100 Logistics IT Provider for 2007. Inbound Logistics editors each year recognize and profile 100 logistics, transportation, ERP and SCM technology companies that are considered the "best of the best" in the industry. "Our inclusion in this select group of companies not only validates the growth of Order Logistics, but also the breadth and depth of our Solve (IT)2 solution in the supply chain arena," commented Paul McCreary, Executive Vice President of Business Solutions for Order Logistics. "Our company is addressing supply chain inefficiencies on several strategic fronts." "With our new combined business focus, we can offer a 'one-stop' international sourcing solution to organizations ranging in size from Fortune 500 corporations to retail chains serving local markets," noted Jannello. "I am pleased to report that Brian Griffin, President and CEO of Order Logistics, Paul McCreary, Executive Vice President of Business Solutions, and Brian Malec, Chief Technology Officer of Order Logistics will continue to play key management roles as we seek to realize the full potential of the Order Logistics brand within the Janel World Trade organization. Current projects include the management of shipping containers for an automotive parts company, the sourcing of 1.6 million brake pads from China for an international association of franchised automotive service stores, and assignments from global food distribution, apparel, construction and agricultural products enterprises. Based upon the number of contracts currently in negotiation, we believe Order Logistics will contribute significantly to Janel's growth and profitability in the future."
